Our club, the Brampton Motorcycle Association, could be what you are looking for. We are a group of riders who are enthusiastic about everything to do with the sport of motorcycling. Our members ride every make, model, style, shape, and size imaginable -- from sportbikes and touring bikes, to cruisers and even the new style scooters. You name it and one of our riders probably has one!
B.M.A. riders enjoy a multitude of activities and events. We are primarily a touring and sport touring club, however interest among members covers all aspects of the sport, from weekend touring/white water rafting on the Ottawa River, to watching bike races at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Throughout the season we offer Sunday one day rides to destinations in Southern Ontario, most times suggested by the members themselves. Places such as St. Jacobs, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Port Dover, and Wasaga Beach have been visited in the past seasons.
Our Tuesday night meet/rides are local but still quite fun and entertaining, and most of all, we are out riding!!
The B.M.A. encourages family participation on all rides and events. As an example this past summer we had a Picnic/BBQ, where families took part in activities such as a scavenger hunt, water games and building birdhouses!
We support and participate in other charity rides and events throughout Ontario such as the BAD Ride, TOMA Ride, Ride for Dad, and Amazing Ride forf MS, to name a few.
All motorcyclists are welcome. If you are interested in joining, or require any additional information, please feel free to drop by at any of our meetings or visit our Website.
So.... Why Ride Alone?? Come join us and enhance the fun and adventure that is the motorcycling experience!!!
Here is a list of our 2012 Executive Members. These are volunteers, elected on a yearly basis, to take the reigns and "lead the club through the riding season". Click on their name, to view their bio to read a little more on that person.

Although our group as it is found today, was founded in September 1981, there are traces of our motorcycle heritage dating back to 1935 (right).
The original "Brampton Motorcycle Club" consisted mostly of Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle owners. This was mostly due to Mervin and Del Beatty, who ran the local motorcycle shop, used as the meeting point (and backdrop of this picture).
In September of 1981, a group of riders got together, and under the guidance of Gerry German founded the Brampton Motorcycle Association.
This associations' goal was to provide the Brampton region and surrounding areas with a motorcycle club whose main interests would be to promote a positive image of motorcycling as a safe and enjoyable sport.
Today, the B.M.A regularly donates money to various charitable organizations such as the Sunshine Foundation, the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Museum, and offers its time for a variety of local government promotional activities.
As well, the club hosts, provides security, and helps the organizers of the IMSS and Spring Bike Shows each year. We are also proud to state that we have been helping out with "The B.A.D. Ride" as parking attendants for the last three consecutive years. Look for us again this year!
So, you are considering joining the club, but don't know how to go about it? Well, I can answer this in a few simple words:
"Come on out, and meet us!"
That would be the beginning step! I am inviting you to come out and ride with us, on a Sunday that is convenient for you. If you like the group, and like the way we ride, you are more than welcome to apply to become a member.
Look at this ride as an opportunity to interview our members - see if you feel you would fit in. But, there is no reason why you shouldn't! We have all walks of "the biker community" in our club. From cruisers to sport bikes - beginner to veteran riders.
I truly believe we have found an excellent blend of members, who care about the community, and love riding first and foremost.
CLICK HERE to look over our application form. If (or should I say, when) you wish to join, please fill it in and bring it to the next general meeting. Once this application has been handed in, you become a probationary member:
You must attend two (2) General Membership meetings and two (2) other Club events (The Tuesday & Sunday rides are club events). You should obtain signatures from an officer in charge for each of the following events during the four (4) month probation period before officially becoming a member of the B. M. A.
The club members meet for breakfast at AJs Restauranton Vankirk Dr., just north of downtown Brampton at 9 AM. Rides leave at 10 AM.
I hope this answers your questions. But if any more questions have arisen while you were reading this, please feel free to contact us!
Looking forward to seeing you out!
